Bad Feng Shui in Arch Digest: Clocks

Looking for an example of truly bad Feng Shui?

Look no further than this living room, as featured in a recent issue of Architectural Digest.

From a Feng Shui perspective this living room is un-livable for at least four big reasons.

1. To begin with, that is one gigantic clock on the ceiling.

Clocks as major design features are not good Feng Shui because they add to the pressures we feel in life, and also detract from the sense of sanctuary we want in a home.

2. Even worse, the tilted angle of the clock makes it feel as though this particular clock might fall and crush you at any moment. The giant gears on the left-hand wall feel threatening as well.

3. And you could really hurt yourself on that brutal and precarious coffee table.

4. Last but not least the abstract wall sculpture over the hearth appears to be “on fire” all the time, which is a big no-no in a Wood-dominated room like this one.

What do you think? Could you live with this living room?
