The most recent issue of Architectural Digest includes this ad for Sherwin-Williams paint:
An endorsement for Feng Shui paint colors.
The copy includes the line, “If you misplace things often, try repainting. A cool color can create a sense of calm and focus.” Sounds like an endorsement of Feng Shui color strategy to me!
Cool colors are more Yin — nurturing, supportive, and stable, while warmer colors are more Yang — lively, energizing, and assertive. So Sherwin-Williams is right. If you want an environment that makes you feel calm and serene, use colors from the cooler side of the color wheel.
