I just came from a beautiful art show called “Dove/O’Keefe” at the Clark Museum in Williamstown, MA.
These two artists started out on parallel paths and were considered the Yin & Yang of the art world in the early years of the last century.
The contrast in their styles is so clear, yet this is a wonderful example of Yin coming to be the dominant force, as O’Keefe evolved into one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
She held her own in the company of many, many male artists, bringing a little bit of balance to the Yang-dominated art world.
