Feng Shui Decor To Lift Your Winter Spirits

As the seasons change, the Feng Shui of your home or office may need to be adjusted right along with them.

One small but energizing adjustment is changing things like flower arrangements, whether they’re real or artificial.

For example, here are the silk flowers I keep in my small bathroom during the Spring and Summer: Summer flowers in the bathroom

The liveliness of these two particular seasons calls for a low-key arrangement. This sweet arrangement actually calms me down every time I see it.

But in Fall and Winter I need something that lifts my spirits and energy. Something like this:

After

After

This simple change makes a tangible shift in the Chi of my home, nourishing me afresh as the seasons change.

Almost real!

Almost real!

Do you make changes in your home as the seasons change?

Not sure if decorations are so different in the east, but here on the west coast of California silk flowers are no longer used as decoration. They have been replaced by grass, tree branch, and bamboo arrangements.

      Hi Veronica,

Live plants are always better than silk ones, absolutely — and both of these are better than dried plant matter.

Bathrooms need the lift of Chi energy that’s created by the Wood element in a beautiful plant, especially one with a vertical growth habit. Unfortunately many bathrooms lack windows so plants can’t thrive. In that case I recommend a silk flower arrangement, like the one in this post.
