A Feng Shui Field Trip: An Office In A Skyscraper

Last week I had the privilege of accompanying Feng Shui master RD Chin as he assessed the Chi energy of a new three-story office space in midtown Manhattan.

RD Chin, assessing the Chi

The site is more than 30 stories up and in a very powerful location, with one side immediately facing the city’s central Chi point, the Empire State Building.

RD is planning important aspects of the space including the location of the CEO’s office and the placement of a large internal staircase to connect the three floors.

Working from a blank slate.

We discussed some of the interesting Feng Shui challenges presented by this huge space, especially finding a way to “ground” an environment that’s so high up, and compensating for two missing Bagua areas (Wealth & Relationship).

Working on a project like this requires an encyclopedic knowledge of Feng Shui so every possible issue can be addressed as early in the construction process as possible.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to create ideal Chi for a business right from the start.

How do you feel about working in an office that’s so high up off the ground? Do you love it — for the views? Or hate it — because it’s so far from the earth?
