Professor Lin Yun‘s life was celebrated yesterday in New York during a beautiful Feng Shui-based memorial observance at the UN Interfaith Chapel.
A large crowd came through the rainy, windy weather to pay their respects to “The Professor,” and our efforts were rewarded with a beautiful, solemn ceremony.
Led by Khadro Crystal Chu Rinpoche (pictured) the ceremony began and ended with the sounds of a drum, clashing cymbals and a softly ringing gong.
Then we all chanted a mantra 108 times, creating a very special atmosphere in the room and establishing a lovely connection between everyone who was there.
The Professor was remembered by five of his friends and colleagues including the author Sarah Rossbach, who co-authored Living Color and other Feng Shui books with The Professor in the early 1990s.
These books were among the first to bring Feng Shui to the U.S. over 20 years ago. Among his many other accomplishments this is something The Professor will long be remembered for.
Even thought I never met him I was happy to have the opportunity to pay my respects to someone who’s had such an impact on my life.
