Is July 2011 going to be a “moneybag month”?
This coming July will contain an unusual sequence of 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays.
The claim, circulating via chain email right now, is that Feng Shui considers this a “moneybag month” because it contains a sequence of days that occurs only once every 823 years.
But how unusual is it, really?
In fact the same types of emails were going around last summer, because October 2010 contained the exact same sequence!
And March 2013 will also have a sequence of 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays.
Not exactly an 823-year gap 
When a month contains 31 days, a mathematical cycle occurs which creates sequences like these (check out this snopes.com article for the explanation).
So, the rumor is false and I’m happy to think that Feng Shui retains its integrity (whew!).
