Q: “When using the Bagua map, which entrance do you use? Does it matter? Do you use the entrance that is used on a daily basis, or what is supposed to be the main door?” – BJ
A: Yes, BJ, it matters!
The Bagua map is always placed using the architectural front door.
Healthy Chi energy identifies it as the “proper” front door, so this is where it wishes to enter your home.
But what if you never use that door?
(This beautiful photo by Christina Dimitriades illustrates the impact on Chi if your front door is always closed. It wants to come in — but it can’t.)
If you rarely use your front door, here’s what to do:
- Place the Bagua on your home using the “real” front door. This will give you insight into how the sectors were originally laid out, and show you how Chi energy wishes to flow through your space.
- Then place it again, using the entrance you actually use.
Placing the Bagua twice gives you clarity about adjustments you can make to the areas that most affect your life right now. Depending on how the flow of the Bagua feels to you using your non-front door as the anchor point, use your best judgement about the best enhancements for each area.
- Finally, open your “real” front door at least twice a year to allow Chi to nourish your space as it was originally intended.
You’ll gain understanding of the way your space, and your life, works when you undertake these three exercises.
