Reader Kate wrote with this question recently:
“I’m trying to Feng Shui my bedroom and am stuck on my love corner.
“I’ve cleared out at as much clutter as I can, my bed is in the right spot, but I’m just stumped on this one.
“I used to have a TV but removed it due to its bad energy. I’ve put an ottoman with cushions in this corner and have pictures on the wall that promote love and couples, but nowhere to put candles or symbols of love.
“I have a small bookshelf but is it ok to have books in the love corner?
Kate, it sounds like you’re off to a good start creating a the Feng Shui bedroom you desire.
Your ottoman is perfect as a spot where two people can connect; I’d suggest adding a pair of cushions to make it more comfy and create the “couples energy” you’re going for.
Add sensuality with lush flowers — peachy colors with a soft skin tone are best. Feel free to use high-quality silk flowers that last.
And I definitely advise against having books in your love corner, let alone your bedroom.
The small shelf sounds like the perfect spot for flowers and a pair of candles; I suggest moving the books out of the room to create as serene oasis as you can.
