If you’re a regular reader of this blog you know that my husband and I recently decided to sell our apartment here in Brooklyn, using Feng Shui to help us make the best choices right from the start.
We started by using Feng Shui to help us find a good broker, and to attract good-quality buyers for our home.
I’m happy to report that things are moving along smoothly; we’re hopeful that the apartment sale will be final within a month or two.
This has led quickly to the next step: finding a place to move into once the sale goes through.
Apartment-hunting in New York City can be quite exciting (!).
Usually you have to look at many, many places before the “just right” one appears, and when it does you have to move swiftly to secure it before your competition does!
So Feng Shui has been super-helpful in helping us decide which apartments to check out in the first place:
- What’s in the immediate vicinity? A startlingly large number of apartments face a school, church, or even a downtown-Brooklyn prison directly across the street. We’ve kept on looking….
- What does the floor plan show? Can our most important pieces of furniture can be placed in Feng Shui’s Command Position – the bed, the couch, the desk? If not, we keep on looking….
- And what about Feng Shui’s three most important areas: Is the entryway welcoming? Will it be easy to prepare healthy meals in the kitchen? Are we likely to sleep soundly and peacefully in the bedroom? If not, and Feng Shui adjustments cannot easily be made, we keep on looking…..
Even with all these criteria we’ve checked out 20 apartments thus far.
Stay tuned as we close in on the perfect new place. I’ll be sharing the journey with you as I navigate with Feng Shui every step of the way.
Meanwhile — have you moved house recently? What are some of your favorite Feng Shui tips for a successful transition?
