Here are a few quick tips before the weekend to smooth the Feng Shui of your summer travels!
1. Create good Feng Shui for sleeping: cover up your hotel room TV at night – or 24/7 if you are so inclined!
- On a recent trip I threw a towel over the TV; the hotel maid respected my choice and even straightened it up when she cleaned each day ☺.
Here’s the TV staring at the bed in a “Before” shot:
And here’s how much calmer the room appeared, “After”:
What a relief!
Along with a meaningful photo or other homey object, personalize your “away” Chi by bringing along a few colorful dishes for snacks and small meals during your well-deserved downtime.
I never go anywhere without these beautiful, unbreakable plates and bowls! (You can find similar dishes at Pottery Barn.)
And don’t forget to give your car good Feng Shui!
- Wash the windows, stock it with bottles of water and other niceties. My secret necessity? Lip balm in the glove compartment!
- Last but not least, keep clutter to a minimum with a trash bag that keeps your traveling Chi flowing nicely.
Happy Trails this summer!
