Thanks for your interest in creating a guest post for the Open Spaces Feng Shui blog.
Here’s how to get started:
Topic
Email me your idea for a post including a short suggested title that sums up your idea.
Articles should be related to Feng Shui, eco-friendly home or office design, holistic health, gardening, motivation & inspiration and similar topics.
Contact us to find out if we’ll consider your idea. It’s helpful to submit links to your previous guest posts or other writing samples before sending in your submission.
Post Title, Content, & Word Count
Your post should be between 250 and 500 words.
Use the Feng Shui principles I am already writing about in the blog as a departure point for your post. An example might be best colors to create a serene bedroom, office desks with “good Feng Shui,”, etc.
Include at least one and up to 4 images to accompany your post, with appropriate credit. Attach these images as an image url or attachment; do not embed.
You may include a few keyword ideas but you may not include any anchor links for SEO purposes in the body of the post.
Your post MUST be original and MUST never have been published before on the Internet. In order to follow Google’s Original Content guidelines, you agree not to publish the post anywhere else, including your own blog or as a guest post on other blogs.
Please submit following information for the “About The Author” section:
- Title (e.g., Feng Shui consultant, Interior Designer, Gardening Expert, Photographer, etc.);
- Headshot Please send your photo as an image URL or attachment (do not embed);
- One to two sentence bio: You may include up to two links to your website, blog, etc., in the descriptive copy or byline, which will be displayed at the bottom of the post;
- Other links (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.); and
- Other contact info (e.g., e-mail address or phone number).
Posting Date
Articles are scheduled based on the Open Spaces Feng Shui editorial calendar. Dates are subject to change. When you are given a posting date, you must submit all content at least one week before that date, though two weeks is preferred.
Marketing
What You Should Do
- You are encouraged to write an article on your own blog linking back to your Open Spaces Feng Shui article. Be sure to only include snippets and not the entire article.
- You will receive a link to share on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and any other social media sites.
- You may also include this link and your teaser article in your e-mail marketing and post it on your website.
- You will need to reply to comments you receive about your article on openspacesfengshui.com.
What We Will Do
- Open Spaces Feng Shui will publicize your article on our blog on the day it is published.
- The article will be promoted via Twitter and Facebook on the date it is published and randomly thereafter.
- The reach (or popularity) of the article will be monitored using ow.ly

- Articles may be edited. Please don’t be offended if I suggest changes, fix grammar, add links, etc. No major changes will be made without your approval; it’s still your post.
- Articles will not be published if they contain inappropriate language or are deemed to be harmful, unethical, plagiarized, a poor fit for the readers of the blog, or otherwise objectionable.
- Portions of articles published on Open Spaces Feng Shui may be reprinted only if credit is given to the Open Spaces Feng Shui blog and the post’s author. A link to the original post must be included in the reprint. Entire articles may not be used.
