How to Attract Positive Energy In Just 3 Entryway Ideas

Do you believe in what they say that first impressions last? Well, I do! That is why every time I am given a chance to meet someone that I want to get along well with in the future, I make sure to already put out the best version of myself. My reason behind this is that I think people tend to have a hard time getting over their first impressions especially if those were bad ones. If you take the same logic to your home and had anticipated the arrival of visitors, you may want to impress them at first sight. What I mean by this is to make certain that the first thing they see when they go inside your house is a clean and inviting entryway.

Imagine being invited to your friend’s house and the first thing you see is a dark, messy, and narrow entryway. Would you still feel secure and comfortable in having a tour of the rest of the house? Or would you rather go home and make sure you do not have that same kind of entryway? If I convinced you to go for the latter, then let me convince you further to read more from this article.

If you try and look up ways to attract positive energy to your entryways, you may end up getting hundreds of suggestions. Believe me, it can be overwhelming. On account of this, I decided to group it all into 3 ideas only to make it easier for you. By following these three concepts, I promise: you will no longer have an entryway that looks straight from a horror movie!

Deal With Your Clutter

The very first thing you want to do in able to achieve a positive-energy-attracting entryway is to clean all your clutter. There are several ways to deal with your clutter and here are some:

Get rid of useless items

The first step you can do to declutter is to put away all the things in your entryway. Segregate the things into two groups: useless and useful. Keep in mind that your definition of 'useful' must correlate with your entryway. There might be things that are still useful for you but is not useful in the entryway.

Let us say you found books in your foyer, it probably is useful for you but is it useful to be placed in your entrance hallway? Of course, no! If this happens, put it in the useless category and plan where else you can store it. It is recommended to be very strict in categorizing your things in the useful group so that when you are done, there will be plenty of space at your front entrance. Whenever you are confused when classifying your stuff, I suggest that you ask yourself this trick question: Do I need this immediately after entering my house? If no, then discard.

Buy enclosed storage cases

Another way to maintain tidiness in your entryway is to opt for enclosed storage cases for shoes and other items than an open rack. Be creative and wise in selecting your pieces of furniture. Here are some of the storage spaces you may try:

1.  Floating storage or hanging baskets

While not all floating storage are enclosed, you can still use this idea to store your keys, sunglasses, scarf or hats, and any other small items that you usually take with you. This is a wonderful way to save floor space since this type of storage is attached to the walls.

2.  Bench with cabinets

Since your entryway is likely the place where people remove their footwear, then it is a good idea to have benches that already have storage cabinets below that can store their shoes.

Set The Ambiance Using Light and Color

Do you know that light and color can magically transform a dull space into an inviting one? Make your entryway look alluring by changing its color and light fixtures. I swear this will automatically help you feel positive vibes as you go inside your home.

Color

Choose a color palette for the whole entry space. It should match to have a clean-looking space. Do not put too much color as this can cause chaotic energy in your foyer. Feng shui practitioners say that black is a recommended color for entrance spaces as it symbolizes water which gives people a lively type of energy. However, avoid applying too much black as it can also make the space appear dark.

Light

Make your entryway as bright as possible because dark spaces are known to be mood depressors. However, avoid putting your light fixtures in a way that they cast shadows as this could bring bad luck according to feng shui. In addition, try using two or more varieties of light fixtures to brighten up the place. You can also use soft lights to give your entryway a homey vibe.

Decorate With Artwork, Mirrors, and Plants

To cure the dullness of your foyer, display artwork, mirrors, or plants. But never place your family pictures or other personal items in the entryway.

Artwork

Choose an artwork that looks welcoming. I made another blog about this so if you want to have a deeper take on this, you can read it here.

Mirrors

A mirror is a great addition to your welcome area as it gives an illusion of a bigger space. Select a mirror that has a beautiful frame and make sure that it matches the color palette you opted for. However, you must be mindful of where you place the mirror as it greatly impacts the flow of energy not just in your entryway but to your whole house. What you have to note is that mirrors shall never be placed directly at your front door. Doing so will reflect the chi out of your house. Do not ever make this mistake because the chi that flows outside includes the wealth and fortune of your family. You can place the mirror perpendicular instead.

Plants

Adding plants to your entryway helps clean the energy going inside your home. It also contributes to the liveliness of the place since plants are earth elements. Some of the plants that you can place in your welcome area are the money tree, lucky bamboo, and any plant that has rounded leaves.
