The Fire Element: Passion & Illumination

Filed Under: Feng Shui Basics & Essentials Tagged With: Feng Shui Color, Fire Element, Five Elements

Bring Fire into your environment to illuminate your life with a feeling of expansiveness, enthusiasm and passion.

The Fire element is associated with Fame & Reputation on Feng Shui’s Bagua Map, the area that symbolizes your integrity, self-esteem and the way you shine your light in the world.

The easiest way to bring Fire into your space is by literally lighting up your space, with candles or beautiful lighting.

Here are a few other Feng Shui adjustments you can use to light up your life with the warmth and vitality of Fire.
1. Use the color Red and triangular shapes.
During the winter it’s especially important to bring Fire into a space that would otherwise feel cold: warm red cushions, and triangular shapes that are found in holiday decorations (star shapes, for example) are two subtle ways to create a warm atmosphere.
2. Use animal prints in furniture and decor.
The Fire element is associated with people and animals: things that are truly alive! With something like a fabulous zebra-striped rug or chair in your space you’d always have the unpredictable and expansive nature of Fire, going strong.

3. Use photographs of people.
Photos of people (and animals) also represent Fire’s warm-blooded nature.
