Feng Shui Your Desk For Success & Productivity

Filed Under: Office Feng Shui Tagged With: Feng Shui For Your Desk, Success, The Bagua Map

Just as Feng Shui’s Bagua Energy Map applies to a building or room, you can also use it to set up your desk to maximize your productivity, business relationships and success.

(Download my exclusive Office Bagua Map here.)

The Bagua is set up in such a way that Chi energy flows best when every space is designed with it in mind, including your desk (and even your bulletin board).

So, start by placing the Map so that the Career area is positioned where you sit at your desk, in the center front.

Now you can see how the various Bagua areas are situated on your entire desk.

Which areas of your business life are most important for you to enhance and activate right now?

What are your key business goals this year?

Let the Bagua be your guide as you rearrange your desk to anchor and enhance your work life:

  • A symbol of financial success such as a healthy plant in the Wealth area in the far left corner,
  • Your business cards or a nice big business logo in the Fame/Reputation area,
  • A black or clear writing pad at the center front, for the Water element that represents Career success.

Have fun, use your imagination, and keep your career success in mind as you rearrange your desk.

Ann, could we consider the vertical space (wall, most likely) behind our desk as part of the desk space for this purpose? I’d be hard pressed to put my computer (my business vitality) anywhere except the Earth cell, but could imagine using the wall behind the desk for fame & reputation items.

Beyond that, I’d love for you to do a follow-up post showing “aerial” views of some desks, and how the bagua map for business might be used with a typical desk.

    Great post–thanks for the download!

Thanks Julie and yes, absolutely — the wall in front of your desk is a key part of your “desk environment.”

I love your idea for a followup post and will add it to the calendar — thanks!

I am constructing a wood box to lift my computer screen to a comfortable eye level. It will sit at the center of my desk space. I plan to paint the box. According to the map, should I paint it red, for fame, or black, for career, and place something red on the wall above the desk? Since the computer is metal, is one color better with that element?

Lisa, Your computer will be sitting in the Career/Life Journey sector of your desk, so the most auspicious color is Black, for the Water element. Computers themselves comprise several of the elements, so no one color will balance it completely; better to go with the symbolism of the Bagua sector. Placing something red on the wall above your desk will be good Feng Shui for the Fame sector. Good luck!
